Day 4 and it is very hard

I have been having the hardest time falling asleep, been irritable, having anxiety, off and on sweating and tremors. My body starting involuntary jolting in my legs. I never experienced that before. I hope it gets better soon.

You're going through the withdrawals and we've all gone through it,some more times than other's but it'll get better and when the withdrawals are done, you'll feel much better. May I suggest a healthy diet and drink a lot of water to help flush it all out. We are all here for you if you need us

I am not a doctor but if you feel the withdrawal symptoms are getting worse please seek emergency medical care. Please be safe. Recovery is amazing so long as you are alive for it. :purple_heart:

Stay strong Shelly! It is hard right now but it gets good soon! Don’t quit before the miracle!

Hi Shelly, you’re right in the thick of it, those first few days can be brutal. What you’re feeling can happen as your body adjusts, but it doesn’t last forever. Hang in there and keep taking care of yourself the best you can. Stay hydrated, rest when you can, and if anything feels off or too intense, please reach out to your doctor. Itll pass soon and you’ll start to feel so much better. We’re all rooting for you

It will get better..... that's all I can say for sure. All of our bodies are different and respond to things very differently. So the time frame I don't know anyone who could tell you yrs or no for certain without it being a guess. Depending on what you were using and how long.....all that I can say is that you've most likely gone through the worst stages of detoxing at this point, so keep going! It does get better and easier once you get over that initial shock to the system...And then it really does get physically easier from there. Hang in there! You can do this and it can be the very last time you have to go through this if you stick with it. Best of luck to you!!

Hot herbal tea is soothing. Also, I would suggest starting to incorporate yoga and breath work/ meditation. As a person who has pretty much suffered with insomnia as a child … it takes a lot to figure out what works. On top of your body fighting against withdrawal from drugs or alcohol or both.
I started taking magnesium gummy’s at night, start getting in a sleep routine of making myself get in the bed around the same time every day, waking up around the same time every day even on the weekends. Doesn’t allow me to have much better sleep throughout the week. Also, if you can get a Fitbit or one of those rings, that’s a sleep tracker. So you could have better control of knowing the quality of sleep that you’re getting because the device is keeping up with it. Add me has a friend if you want to talk more about sleep.
