Day 8 of sobriety raw thoughts. Day 1-3 were the hardest. Shakes, anxiety, insomnia, nausea, loss of appetite, and irritability. Today I feel a lot better, however, I still do not feel my best. I'm struggling with different emotions. It almost feels like grief, which I'm almost certain is the case. People don't just grieve people right? I think alcohol was the love of my life & my comfort blanket for so long. But enough is enough. My alcoholism has cost me relationships, my education, and jobs. Enough is enough. I KNOW it's only a matter of time until I feel 100% therefore I will not get discouraged. I will keep fighting for peace with in my soul. I deserve to be at peace and not trapped in he'll anymore.
I haven't started yet. I'm actually looking for a good AA meeting.
Thank you for the advice.

Ha yes, alcohol was my best friend for years, always there for me. Chose it over kids, family, everything! So there was a grieving period for sure! Like a relationship, the longer you go with zero contact the easier it gets. But it takes time and lots of effort! Everyday is better though! You will see! Have faith! Congrats

Real big facts! Thank you
De nada! Meja:v:t3:
I was just thinking this morning how happy I am not to have to come to work with a hangover... you got this!!! Keep making moves to help you not drink... and never give up!!
You'll do it, just have to stick with it.

Indeed!
Thank you girl! I appreciate you. Do you mind if I add toy?
Thank you!

Girl yes all the feels come on in! Support support support will help you. Do you have the AA meeting app? I love women’s meetings. If you haven’t already, find a meeting, introduce yourself, and ask for help. And grab a copy of the big book if you don’t already have it. The literature is very relatable and you will not feel so alone during this process. I’m here for support too!
Hi Jack. Yes I do have a big book. I just found my dads last night. So I have it with me. I have been looking into online meetings. I think I'll try to do one tonight and the rest of the week. Thank you for the advice!
You’ll be like ‘I should a done this a long time ago’
When I quit drinking, all of my anxiety and depression were pretty tough to deal with, so I sought medication. Today is 121 days for me, and I give a lot of credit to the fact that I'm medicated and spent the first 30 days in rehab.
Get a support system of friends around you as best as you can. Keeping myself occupied with the hours of my day with something different than alcohol was the hardest part for me. Try to start new positive and healthy routines and focus on those.
I highly recommend therapy!! It’s been my saving grace but your outlook on things is good and what you are feeling is NORMAL and it will pass. It will not feel this heavy forever. Drinking will only make it harder remember. Sending you all the good juju!!
Actually alchohol and drugs was the love of my life for a very long time. Now I can see that my definition of love was severely warped and twisted. It was priority over everything and I mean everything (obsession & infatuation). It took priority over everything and everyone so much that ended up being very very very isolated. My relationship with alchohol/drugs was a very abusive and codependent one on both sides. I was always trying to fix it so that it would love me back and put priority on me. Yet not once did it ever truly care about my well being. Nor did I care about its true well being. I just wanted the buzz/high and what it could offer me and my selfish desires. Yeah I grieved that relationship for awhile too.
Woo hoo you go girl..
