Day one of quitting drinking. Life is really really really

Day one of quitting drinking. Life is really really really hard right now and I don’t know how I’m going to get through this. I welcome any support or advice.

It’s not easy at all. My life isn’t the easiest right now and has not been for a while. I hid behind drinking and getting high for a long time. I decided to change everything around me even if some of those things hurt me in the process. I’ve felt alone for a long time and I was doing everything wrong when I thought it was right for me. I really started from scratch and changed everything in my life. You know where it started for me? It started with something simple like making a post like this in a sober network. By you posting this alone is a way of asking for help to get through this. I don’t know you but if you need to just talk about anything or need a friend that’s sober to just talk to feel free to message me or anyone else here that’s doing the right things. I listen really well and I’m willing to help anyone that needs it. Because it helps me as well. It helps me because I can share what’s on my mind and give you ideas of what I’m doing to help myself.

Are talking about the withdrawal? That’s hard. It going to be, but you gotta punch through to the other side. There will be a point where it starts getting easier. You just gotta tell yourself that you are almost there.

Hi Codi, the beginning can certainly be hard, I can tell you it gets easier. Life is always a little lifey, but sobriety makes living easier. Get plugged into a program, there are a lot of options: AA, The Luckiest Club, SMART Recovery, Recovery Dharma, Refuge Recovery, Celebrate Recovery, The Sober Faction, Recovery Elevator. Keeping posting on here, you will always get support here.

Thank you so much. That’s what I am doing. Going back to meetings tonight and finding a sponsor and cleaning house. I woke up today with a tiny bit of hope. I think that’s contributing to me actually not drinking last night. One day sober and I have a tiny bit of clearness back.

Not withdrawal but just what’s going on in my life. And then the drinking amplified my emotions. Yesterday was day one for me and it was nice to not wake up feeling like garbage for once.

Thank you so much for your kindness and willingness to reach out.

Going to one tonight

Thank you so much. Going back to AA tonight. What program do you belong to?

Not withdrawal but just life in general. And then not drinking is also hard just because that was my escape from life.

Getting plugged into a program and Fellowshipping with others like yourself never fails.

Just get sober time and it will get better. However bad life is right now, you can make it a lot worse by drinking.

I don’t fit into any single program, I attend meetings at the Luckiest Club, AA, and Tempest. I want to try out Recovery Dharma, just need to make the time.

How are you doing today? Still on it?

This is day three. Anxiety is starting to subside but I feel off still. Going to a meeting tonight.
