Day one again. Let me know what you all do to fight the “boredom” part!

Read the big book, text/call someone in the program or therapist (usually my sponsor). I also have games on my phone to occupy me that have daily tasks & achievements (Gems of War) and a community there too.

I second everything Jacob said above, and also getting outside for a walk, run, bike ride. Finding groups of sober people whether it’s AA or a Meetup of some sort. Reading books, bake/cook, take a bath. Meditation apps, yoga. Just to name a few.

What do you like to do? You have an opportunity to discover and reconnect with your interests. I've found a love for being in nature, reconnecting with sci-fi/anime, and growing my cooking skills. There's so much out there!

Day one is better than day 0. Usually around day 4 or 5 I have felt better, which is when I remember that when I get to say 21 or so I'll feel great. Diet and exercise help the healing process. Sleep gets better around day 4 or 5 too, especially if exercise is involved, however small at first.

These are the questions we want answers to. Essentially it's FAFO in a healthy way by connecting our values to pursuits of interest to fill the time void when we were using.

Additionally, I thought I would not be able to enjoy watching soccer not drinking - I enjoy it so much more now.

Get back into the things that you love to do but were too preoccupied with addiction

Anything I started so many new hobbies getting sober! Cross stitching, crocheting and knitting sewing, making homemade disinfectant and laundry detergent so that we have less chemicals in the house! I just stay busy and if I have nothing I can do I try to do something nice for someone around.

Walk, run ,exercise keep your mind busy

I make art. Creativity welcomes and thrives in boredom. I also meditate, and go for walks. Reading old books is fun for me, calling or texting a friend, reassess my tasks for the day, look at past journal entries to see how far I’ve come,

Try a time consuming hobby, like a 500 piece puzzle, painting, cooking, baking, or even volunteering
