It definitely matters. The 12 steps promise a life happy joyous and free…drugs/alcohol enslave us and promise jails institutions and death. Not only physical death, but spiritual death, death of all we could ever hope and dream to be, death of our purpose in life. Don’t sell yourself short. If you don’t have a sponsor, I highly recommend finding one. If you do have a sponsor, call them. Also get your tribe of sober support- make and grow your connections. In sobriety, with support and working a program, we meet calamity with serenity.

I don’t think you have even begun to do the step work. Recovery doesn’t happen by just not picking up. It takes honest effort and work. Honesty open mindedness and willingness. Your sitting in a pity party and getting no where. Are you in any kind of recovery support group or therapy or just doing this app? You get out imho as much as you put in. Obviously you hurt someone if you’re facing federal prison. What about them?
