I had a face to face confrontation with the demons of my past today.

Unlike the previous times, when life would throw obstacles in my path. My demon would embrace me, take me under his crooked wing. Tempting me with a fix. With an easy way to manage the pain.

This time, I recognized that the obstacles are manageable and the pain is caused by that very same demon that poses as a solution. The "quick fix" is an illusion that only makes the obstacles harder, and the pain hurt more.

You can't trick me anymore...

Thanks for sharing... You're so right the very thing we run to for help or a solution is the very thing that's caused the most pain for me. I love this way of thinking about it "the quick fix will only make it worse". Thanks again!
