Dharma recovery

if anyone is interested in Buddhism or recovery without the steps, or even in conjunction with AA, NA, etc., check it out. the meetings consist of reading, a guided meditation, and sharing. no one identifies as anything but his/her name🙏🪬

I loosely follow the teachings. Sort of Buddhism for the Modern Man.
The truths and the path are what keep me sober. I never had much luck with AA.
Once I found buddhism it led me to Deism...
I'm not religious but I'll listen to anyone's good idea!!

i think you may really enjoy this, then. there is also refuge recovery, but it follows AA with the steps, etc.

I just downloaded the PDF free at Book • Recovery Dharma

I was a Buddhist for years and still value the teachings. It was a great prep for my Chasidic practice.

yay! Please let me know what you think of it. I was raised Lutheran, but I mix in Buddhism. I kind of cherry pick and just pick love as the most common denominator… And that starts with loving ourselves, which is so hard for me.

I am a Punk Rocker ( been dancing in circles yelling Oi! Oi! Oi!, since 1988) and just read Dharma Punx. Now I am very interested in what Dharma recovery has to offer. I’m honest, open minded and willing. HOW is the key to success in recovery. I will check this out. Thank you for sharing with us

i just went to the meeting tonight. the only bummer is that it’s only once a week in my area, but i am grateful to have access to a live meeting. tonight’s meditation was on generosity

I browsed your photos, and was the last photo at the Buddhist Temple where you attended Dharma Recovery? I want to experience this. I fall to sleep practicing mindfulness and wake up feeling wonderful and not hungover or dope sick. It is amazing and a miracle
. I live in Augusta, Georgia and we don't have anything similar here. I wish we did. The closest one is in Asheville, NC, which is about a 3 1/2 hour drive north of me. I think it would definitely be worth the trip. It's great to be friends with you on here and thank you for sharing

I have! It's a bit dry but good information!

Thanks for the share. I have been doing refuge for a few years now. It’s nice to see different views represented.
