Did not drink
And it was very uncomfortable day
Merry Christmas.
In life and in recovery there are many many days that are NOT comfortable. Life on life’s terms. WE tried to numb ourselves way too long and it nearly killed us.
When I returned home from treatment many moons ago, it was at Christmas time. I attended an in-person AA or NA meeting every single day, sometimes twice a day the first year. Especially on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Never going under 3 meetings a week thereafter. Ever.
I bought a Big Book and read the first 164 pages which is the “solution” to my disease.
I then found a good sponsor and thoroughly worked ALL 12 steps.
“Nothing insures our immunity from the first drink then working with another alcoholic”, and that’s exactly what I did and continue to do.
I got a God in my life and I stay spiritually fit each day. I accomplish this through prayer & meditation, daily readings,
spiritual music, church, meetings, listening to AA open talks on UTube, recovery podcasts, etc.
Does this sound like work? Yes. However “Faith without works is dead”. Through working the program of Alcoholics Anonymous and having a God in my life I have been transformed.
I encourage you to do the same. Search out an AA home group in your area. Ask for help. Long term sobriety is available to each of us IF we do the work. Best wishes

Thank you
I have a home group
Been sober 174 days in that time at least 225 meetings
Faith is a struggle and i can’t fake it
Your kind words are appreciated
