A sponsor is a person to lead you through the steps. Not a bff. At least not to start. And if it’s not working for you, you can always change. It’s not a marriage. Choose a woman who is clean and sober for a year, and who comes to meetings and shares. Remember that you are not a burden to your sponsor. She needs you just as you need her.

If no one fits the bill at your meeting, find a new meeting.
