Do I need to help?

I have an acquaintance that has found out I am in recovery and wants me to talk to her husband, who I know well. He has stopped drinking but doesn’t see himself as having any problems, doing it for health reasons. My partner also thinks I should talk to him.
I am apprehensive because I feel people need to ask for help, I don’t want to inject my self into his struggles but I also want to support those I can, when I can. Thoughts?

Well, I'd say if he stopped drinking and his actions are not directly affecting you or your partners life... I'd stay out of it as it technically is not really your place? Mind what's yours :woman_shrugging:

If he’s stopped already then there is not much to talk to him about, if you know him well you could however strike up a friendship where the conversation could lead to more satisfying recovery for both of you. Just an opinion

Read about this in the BB and you will learn a lot of things for now or later. Actually you have a great topic idea!

I can on tell you to be careful. I did that to someone in my family and it wasn’t a good situation and as of today we don’t speak. Was told to stop preaching blah blah.
