Do you prefer the big book or the 12 steps? I read them both.
To me, you cannot prefer one or the other. They go hand and hand.
This isn't a matter of opinion. If you prefer the 12 step you prefer the big book. Even if you don't get into the stories that change with every edition. The first 164 pages remain the same.
Neither. I didn’t find a 12 step helpful at all, actually.
The 12 and 12 is a supplement to the big book. I read both regularly. I attend both a big book meeting and a 12 step meeting regularly. It’s the best way to get immersed in the program.
I consider them both to be essential tools. The Big book offers a larger picture but the 12 & 12 can get into specifics. It also depends what steps you may be studying; the big book only offers a couple pages on 6 & 6 but the 12 & 12 offers chapters.
I consider them both vital to my recovery.
I mean steps 6 & 7, not 6& 6
John did you really try or just attend a couple of meetings? What are you doing now that is keeping you sober?
I tried to do the 6&6, but discovered I was only doing my program half a$$ed.
