Yes. If you want to surrender and accept that you can no longer drink safely. The obsession can be removed.

Yes, I’m 7 months sober and I don’t even think or get urges to drink anymore. I attend a lot of meetings though and frequently reach out to my sponsor.

Read the DOCTORS OPINION in the BIG BOOK. IT EXPLAINS THE SPIRITUAL MALADY WE HAVE. WHEN WE BALANCE OUT SPIRITUALLY. WE WILL BALANCE OUT PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY. IT IS A PROCESS. I GOT HERE AT THE RECOVERY PROCESS AT THE AGE OF 23. 9 MONTHS SOBER. I WAS SUGGESTED TO DO TREATMENT. I DID 40 MONTHS OF OUTPATIENT TREATMENT AND DIAGNOSED AS A MIDDLE STAGE WETBRAIN ALCOHOLIC WITH A DRUG PROBLEM. . MY MIND WAS TOAST... TODAY I'M IN YEAR 37. I'm still working on my life. I will not graduate from this process . Things do get better

I worked the steps and have been relieved of that obsession. As long as I stay close to AA and my higher power, it has never come back.

What helps me is first being aware that I’m obsessing over it then once I started realizing that, then I’ve been able to handle cravings better. They don’t happen as often as in the beginning
