Not anymore. But I used to. I would worry about family events and knew in my heart that I would drink to celebrate. But I have a new heart now. Daily work a strong program, I am of service, and I’m united with all of you. I found a freedom from my my fatal obsession.

I get so nervous cause I’m only two weeks in. Well almost 2 weeks in. And sort of still dealing with cravings. I’m just hoping to stay strong and not cave

It sucks but it’s true that your first 30 days are the hardest. Many times I didn’t reach 30 days but you know what it’s very possible and impressing. Honestly didn’t do it alone. I couldn’t.

If you just focus on today and making good decisions you’ll be ok. Worrying about forever is daunting. And you really can’t do anything about tomorrow until it gets here.

No.
I live one day at a time.
To the best of my ability.

I use to and my sponsor said this to me “Yesterday is history and tomorrows a mystery. All we have is today. Stay in the day. If you go to bed sober tonight you’ve earned another day”

That’s a great saying, so far a lot of ppl have been telling me take it day by day. And it’s working

It really is. It’s like I’m waiting to mess up. But I’m going to keep going day to day.

Yes ! I have 19 more days to go till my 30 day mark

Day 11. Nice fall day. Say a prayer if that’s your thing. Get your body moving. Find gratitude. Focus on today. Maybe a little of the fog has lifted. Maybe your body is adjusting to its new alcohol free self. Maybe there’s some self care for you to enjoy.

30 days can’t be accomplished without day 12 being a success first.

I understand your nervousness Ash, but sometimes we have to let go of some aspects of life we can't control as it will only give us anxiety so focusing on accomplishing one day at a time may help us get that anxiety away. Also, congrats as you're almost two whole weeks sober!

I did in the very beginning & then learned the whole day at a time thing. It really works. No lamenting the past or worrying about the future. If I stay right here in this moment, in this day? I’m going to be okay. You will too

If I think about forever I get overwhelmed, but if I think about today then that’s something I can conquer. Hang in there, the cravings will come and go, some days will be worse than others. Keep pushing through them. You get stronger every day! And we’re here for you on the days when you need more strength! You can do this!

I try not to because I have gained my daughter, husband and son-in-law back into my life so I am so hyper-vigilant about staying sober. Plus I lost 2 special people from alcoholism and my friend at 40 had to have a liver transplant because of drinking so I know if I go back out I am in trouble more ways than one. I was headed for liver trouble when I finally smarten up and got professional help and just celebrated 3 years. It’s not easy especially the way they glamorize drinking but they don’t show the true damage it does. By seeing it first hand I honestly don’t want to do that again. Will it be easy nope but definitely doable for sure.:pray:

Take it second by second if you need to, Ash…wishing you well.
Excellent insights have been shared.
You can do this, Ash!

I try to live in 24 hour increments. That’s all any of us have is today. I can’t predict the future and I can’t change the past.

One day at a time! ODAAT
