Does anyone else drink to get rid of a hangover

Not going to lie, that’s what I always did when I used to drink. Lol. Favorite saying, “What better way to get over a hangover, than drinking.”

It does work but I’m trying to break the cycle

You know quit drinking. I’m fighting a strong craving right now

I never had the traditional hangover, but still drank. There is science behind wanting the drink. I do alot of reading on addiction. Try reading Alcohol Explained by William Porter. It's easy to read and understand what alcohol does to keep you addicted. Gillian Tietz's website and podcast is also good at explaining Alcohol. There are a ton more literature out thre. I believe in getting educated along with every other resource available Best of luck reach out anytime

Lol…ETOHism 101! O2-28-2OO2

Only when I was in active addiction.. and it just made everything worse. Thank god I stoped drinking and ably wake up clear headed, and without the stomach issues and body aches.

Withdrawal is the worst thing you’ll ever go through in your entire life. But when you come out the other side of it, and really start working the program, I can only tell you…you become clean and clear to start receiving gifts, literally.

Most alcoholics have. Probably before we were alcoholics just partying to a degree we’ve woken up and needed to go get a Bl**dy Mary, beer or a couple shots to level out that hang over. I’ve :100: percent been on that boat. Glad I got off when I did though.

Has anyone on the app tried to type bl00dy Mary and get a alert that the word Bl00dy isn’t allowed?

Stopping drinking and getting myself into AA cleared up my hangovers:) haven’t had one since…

I used to when I drank. But it wasn't intentionally to get rid of the hangover. I simply drank because I needed to drink.(obsession)Somehow or another the hangover disappeared in the middle of the next drunken stupor.

The insidious cycle of insanity!

Hair of the dog :dog:

At the end, I did. But more to just stay drunk then clear a hangover. I was managing a perpetual buzz that was somewhat functional until I fell apart at night.

I haven’t had a drink in months but I have been in a place where I absolutely drank to get rid of hangovers day after day. It ramped up my anxiety like crazy. Eventually I would feel both drunk and hungover in unison. That was more than 15 years ago. If you’re in that place, I hope you’re able to push through the hangover!

I did and for way too long. Starting drinking in the morning can normalize it in your thinking and make the denial that much harder to tackle. Getting into a 24 hr cycle comes quicker than you would think and becomes deadly.

I would try to recognize that a hangover is your body telling you to stop. It gets harder to stop the longer you do it.

Man, I feel dumb. I didn't know that was a thing.
