Does anyone else find it hard to stay sober when they are sick with the crud. I used to heat whiskey n honey and felt better . Feel like about 6 shots of that now. My defenses are down when i get this sick.

I feel that… I’ve been sober from a booze for eight years but opiates have been my drug of choice for a while now and they certainly always helped make me feel better when I was sick, as did the liquor. When I’m peeling that way I just try to remember how I felt after drinking, whether it was the hangover or the immense guilt, financial problems, and lack of self-respect. Keep on trucking… Addiction continues to get harder as time passes, but recovery only gets easier. We just have to adapt and learn new coping skills, and then we can do just about anything we put our minds to. I believe in you

Yes I did not drink but live with a very toxic mean husband and a narcissistic 40 year old son that causes major problems for me it is so hard.
It's been my answer to pretty much everything lol 
Attending meetings regularly is a must and getting a sponsor. The miracle will happen as you continue to grow and may God be with you during your journey
Yeah, the theraflu or consistent daytime or nighttime nyquil is just as well. It's just as good without taking you down a bad path. I don't struggle when im sick like I did for the first 3-4 yrs in my sobriety.
