Does anyone ever feel extra lonely in sobriety or is it just me?
It’s lonely at the top! Just keep pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. I try to do one thing a day that scare me a little.
Nope it is not you my friend I have been clean from alcohol and weed going on 15 months now and I moved to a new city and I feel lonely every day
I have 7 years sober and I feel that the more time I get the more isolated I am.
I have 29 yrs sober. Loneliness is just a feeling. Feelings aren’t facts. I can choose to sit in my loneliness or take action. Action could be anything from inviting a friend out for dinner or going to a movie with a friend. Reaching out and doing for others is the best way I’ve found to get out of my loneliness. My higher power put me on this earth to do for others and in doing for others I help myself.
I feel it. But I'm only 16 days sober. I'm hoping that in time I'll figure out ways to socialize and not just feel tortured by the temptation to drink. I was a really social addict and now I feel like I'm a sober hermit.
Almost 11months in and yes, it's very lonely at times! I've struggled with this a lot, but I won't go back to my old ways!
