Does anyone have any experience on going through the fourth step?
I’m on the last part of the fourth step and I feel like it is the most difficult for me. It’s like I have this block around it. S*x relations is really painful. I would love to hear from anyone about it.
Bro, I often tell sponsees when they say the 4th step is hard, “What was your life like before you did the fourth step?” Mine was an endless pit of desperation, despair, anxiety and feelings of hopelessness. The 4th step at its conclusion will highlight what the true issue is, just write it down, trust me you will be glad you did when it’s over. We hate doing it because we have to relive all that horrible stuff we did, but we (others in recovery) have heard it all. The 4th step starts off the process of healing yourself, along with the 5th. 6 & 7 allow you to heal your relationship with a higher power of your choosing and 8 & 9 allow you to heal the relationships with those we hurt. It’s the step that opens the door, it changed my life for the better, and hopefully it will for you too. Just keep writing, it’s the start to freedom from all that we are bound too and killing ourselves over
