I am a recovering IV user. I just play the tape all the way though. Instead of the feeling after the push. I imagine the push leading to misery and isolation and despair and loneliness. That is the true result of the needle.

I was in a relationship an IV heroin addict a long time ago, we got clean together, though our addictions were different. At the advice of one of the counselors at the treatment center she started shooting saline do to her fixation. The fact that it didn’t get her high lead her to eventually stop banging, but it was months before that happened. She ran out of clean rigs one day and just never got more. She eventually started using again after we broke up, but it worked for the several years we were together!
