Does anyone take any herbal supplements to suppress alcohol cravings?

I take quite a few supplements but none of them do anything for alcohol cravings. My doctor did prescribe acamprosate calcium which has done marvelously. Apparently it's probably one of the few drugs that literally put your brain back into your pre alcohol state. Not sure if it works for everybody but it sure worked wonders for me and the beauty of it is after a while you forget to take it and you're still fine. Good luck in your journey.

I suppress cravings with working out to be honest. I know people gravitate to candy but I would suggest maybe having some fruit around. Also try drinking a non-alcoholic kombucha

These do not help with cravings but help repair the brain from alchol abuse. B1 and nician. Bill Wilson encouraged theses. Also my drs. Have confirmed it. Not much but hope it helps.

Yes, it truly was a miracle for me. It is very Suttle but It worked. I keep a bottle around now but rarely use it anymore. It's kind of turned Into a placebo. Just knowing it's there kinda thing. But like Megan above I also take B1 very important as well as niacin. I drive by my favorite pub and hear no siren song at all. The faith angle like the other writer recommends is also a fantastic idea.

i’ve done some (light) research regarding this, a GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) supplement may help you with this..alcohol works on the same receptors in the brain and CNS..during alcohol withdrawal GABA is depleted, which can increase those cravings ..i ordered a GABA supp. recently off amazon, hasn’t arrived yet so i’ll report back with my findings LOL
