Does Diet Really Matter in Recovery?

Diet can mean a lot of different things, and just being you want a healthy diet, does not mean you have to cut out all junk foods and what people say are not good for you. You can find a healthy balance between eating healthy and having a sweet treat!

Personally I have found a great impact on my life with diets. I have found that eating a balanced meal helps me keep motivated with my day to day tasks.

Nutrition can be a great habit to get into, especially finding a balance between having a healthy diet and giving yourself a sweet treat. Especially, I find meal prepping really helps set the week up for success with healthy meals.

Quick Question! Is focusing on nutrition essential, or is it just a side aspect of recovery?

I think it is essential. As addicts, we are unable to have one cookie occasionally. And if we are trying to feel better, then sugar/fast food etc is really working against everything we are trying to achieve.

I feel like it’s like anything. Garbage in garbage out right? We recover from a hopeless state and fix our mind, body and spirit. But occasionally having some junk food, ain’t gonna kill you lol especially, from the place that I’ve come from. Lol.

I'd say it's an essential part of holistic health. Since the mind and body work together I think it's important to work on all aspects of health.

Having discipline within yourself is really good! Its not easy to not give yourself a treat once and a while but with having discipline within yourself at the end of the day feels so good knowing you do
