Does it get better? I’ve been clean so far for

Does it get better? I’ve been clean so far for 6 months, I got a sponsor last week, going to meetings and I live in a recovery home. Sometimes I feel so isolated even though I’m around “fellowship”. There is chaos in getting clean because it’s like I’m picking up all the pieces of my life that I let slip away when I was using, and it’s tough. I just hope things get better, and I’ll just keep taking it one day at a time…

It gets better

It gets better but it’s reality and we aren’t use to reality. Give it time.

I know you have 6 months, which is a huge deal. That said, you just got a sponsor. The steps are the key to fixing your life. You’re on your way.

It gets gooder and gooder. I simply do my 10, 11, and 12 every day and do the first thing in front of me that's the next right thing. It takes a lot of time to grow and put things right. I'm still recovering from the stuff I gave away 11 months in. I'm making progress though and that is all that matters to me. One day at a time and with more experience comes knowing how to intuitively handle situations that used to baffle me. Give it time to let the miracles happen and stay connected to your higher power whatever that may be to let it carry your burdens and work its will and love in your life.

It definitely gets better as you do the work. Just keep at it one day at a time and keep an open mind. Universe can give you little gifts of insight at any moment.

It gets better. I was once told that chaos will always exist however recovery helps to thrive amongst the chaos.

Yes, it is tough. But those of US who have not gotten loaded today are actually living. What I did in active addiction was NOT living. Keep your chin up.

Look at it this way… it beats the alternative. You have one life to live, so make it your best.

Still getting better for me 2 yrs into it, after I finally grew some patience and stuck with my meetings. Hang in there, you're going to be alright!

For me, it only gets better with working the steps. The steps are what treat the disease, by building new neural pathways and healing damaged ones, in our brains. Stopping drinking/using keeps us from continuing to damage our brains and bodies w poison but without treating the disease in our brains, it’s difficult to be anything but miserable.

It most definitely will get better. You have to do it one day at a time don’t push for force anything just let things get better as they go. If you try to push or force it, it won’t happen the way it supposed to. Yeah, it’s a believe in the program and you have to believe in your higher power that they will get you through this and that no matter what you’ll be stronger than you ever having thanks can’t get nowhere so much they were the only go up from here. I’ve been in Sober living. I’ve been a lot of places, but I can guarantee you, he can’t get any worse than where you started.

For me "getting better" in the beginning was simply just not getting worse. I wasn't making bad situations worse. I got comfortable with that pretty quick.

Stabilizing is the foundation for getting better.

Fellowship isn't for everyone. I mean who wants to sit around a bunch of junkies and tell them about themselves? Keep your deal with the big man. It doesn't make sense that you would fit in with everyone. You're super special! :hugs:

True, but I live in a recovery home and it’s required. And I go to meetings because it helps me not feel so alone and I feel like I fit in somewhere. I have addiction and not many people can relate to that and when you’re in a room full of people who get it, that’s special. :sparkles:
