Does the dating app work ? I can’t get it

Does the dating app work ? I can’t get it to show anyone !

Lol.

Sounds like a no lol

Try expanding your area

It still doesn’t work I’ve set the age from 18 to 80 and the distance and far as I can go and still nothing lol

Bummer. I’m on there too but not having much luck either. Not too many people in my area.

It's garbage.

I can’t get it to work either and thought this would be a great place to start the dating journey at 23 months sober..

Jenn posted good suggestions up above. This is pretty much a positive sober environment that does offer dating within a close area to where you’re located. Yet, the people here are really positive and supportive. Stick around, you never know what can come your way.

So very true!

It may be under investigation. Too many newcomers saw it as a solution to their addiction which resulted in many relapses.

I feel they should make it at least a year before you can date on this site as sugggested in the rooms as most people can’t handle the emotional rollercoaster of a relationship or a brake up but just a suggestion and if they lie that’s on them and their conviction for lieing that they have to live with as this program is all about honesty and for me is my relationship and conviction I will receive from God for lieing about my sobriety date .

So if I meet a woman in the first year of sobriety and we have a good bond, I’m supposed to tell her no because I don’t have a year of sobriety? Seems a bit weird to me. Also, I’ve yet to read that in the big book.
I can say from my experience that I needed an overhauling in this area of my life, which after my 4th and 5th step, I have decided to take a step back and build a relationship not only with God but with his children. Leaving the sexual tendencies out. Since I’ve been doing this I can recognize some obsessive behaviors or character defects I have. One is I can meet a woman based on looks and then become obsessive in my head. She becomes the only thing I think of. That’s when I step back to see my part in why em I feeling this way. It boils down to loneliness. So now that I see this in me, I can make better decisions on relationships. I don’t want a relationship based on obsessive behavior. Maybe that’s the reason for taking a year but I’m still on the defense that one should at least look at their inventory and take it to God. AA has no say in what we do about relationships. I’m selfish and don’t want to harm anyone anymore…

This program is not all about a "relationship with god" and god is certainly not the same thing as honesty. Choosing a number of days or years before someone should be able to look for companionship shouldn't be anyone else's business, to be chose arbitrarily by some gatekeeper. If someone can't find it here they may go back to the bar to find it.

Just to let you know Bill and Bob in the principles of AA are all based on the Bible so do your homework

They are all suggestions of AA to wait till you have reached a year of sobriety to start dating as most people can’t handle a break up in their first year of sobriety and they end up relapsing that is why I said to wait a year

Can you point me to what page in the big book it suggest waiting a year? I would like to know exactly where so I can highlight it. I’m a sponsor and want to be able to point out all the key points to the program.

Ive done plenty of homework. I also know what the word "suggestion" means and I also know that Bill and Bob are just humans that had really good suggestions. I also know that there are thousands of atheist and agnostic that are in AA working it. You do what works for you, I'll do what works for me, I'm not gonna argue with ya.

It’s all suggestions of AA to wait a year as the people can’t handle the emotional roller coaster of a relationship or a break up in their first year of sobriety hint I’ve been in it for 8 1/2 years I’ve seen a lot of relapses and deaths because of relationships

Ok great congrats on your sobriety
