Does the urge to use every go away? Also does Addiction get passed down through generations? Or does it skip some generations?

Whether or not addiction is passed down through genetics is debatable. The urge to use will go away but it will also come back. Eventually urges will be fleeting and barely noticeable but it takes some time. You have to be patient with yourself and with the process. For me it was about 9 months when I noticed I hadn't thought about using that day
