Dream Catching

Sitting in this chair with a bird’s-eye view for the first time,
seeing how far I can reach. I was without the light for so long —
now I see every hue. Always thinking I knew better,
I would ignore what they preach.

Wisdom now crying in my heart and in the streets;
I’ll be spreading my net wide for all those in need —
trapped in their own devices, unaware of the calamities,
the simple life blinding them like it did me.

I have been armed with the signs, the patterns, and I will catch
those who tread the same path. While on my own I crashed,
so maybe together, holding tight, we may latch onto the thought
that everything destroyed can be patched.
