Dressy top + leggings = ready for Zoom interviews. First time interviewing for jobs in the behavioral health field. First up is an interview for something called The Peer Pride Internship. I originally applied for a paid position, and was told that due to my inexperience working with at-risk youth, the best they could offer me is a shot at an unpaid internship so I can prove myself. And a little later on, I’ll be interviewing for a recovery coach spot, a salaried position working with people in detox. Everybody keeps insisting I’m gonna do well in this field (and I suppose my life experiences give me a unique set of skills to apply in this field), but I’m still 45 and starting over, AGAIN, and I’d be a liar if I said it’s not a little bit terrifying. If nothing else, I at least look like I mean business.

Well I never expected to be asked what I do for self-care on an interview, but I was just asked that very question in back to back interviews. Both interviews went well.
The salaried position would be 4 days a week, 9-5.
The Internship comes with a flexible schedule (that I could work in addition to the other job) and opportunities for professional development.
Both places said the next step is passing my resume to HR & I’ll be called if I’m selected for in-person interviews. I think I have a real shot at one, possibly both of them.
