Drowning

I am on meds. I’m very good about taking them everyday. They have worked great, but just because they have doesn’t mean I don’t struggle ya know? I’ve just hit kinda a hard spot in my recovery.

I feel the same, girl. I have tried every single trick in the book. Still I can’t find relief from the hold addiction has on me.

I know it doesn’t count for much- but take it one day at a time, one minute at a time. Don’t try to solve your whole life in one day. Focus on getting through this day only. And then do that every day. Learning about self-compassion has been a game changer for me personally.
I’m right there with you- struggling not to go under. It’s hard as fck but I am just going to keep going, putting one foot in front of the other. Just for today only.

I’m so glad that you reached out to us. It sounds like you are doing all of the right things, which can feel deflating when it doesn’t feel like it’s working. It will. I know you can get through this if you keep pushing through (by pushing through I mean taking care of yourself). Let me know if you need anything at all.

Take it day by day. It seem cliché. But you want to change for the better. No one wants this more than yourself.

You are stronger than you think! You got this! I believe in you and you have support!

Simply talk about it. Just like you’re doing here. Yeah you have all our support

Personally, I go to NA meetings regularly. It really works if you have an open mind. Plus, it’s FREE.

Hello Brittany, I'm sorry you're feeling like this, and congratulations for keeping with your sobriety. How about booking a 90 minute massage as a reward? It's probably not an everyday solution but it might build that self care back! In either case I hope you get feeling better soon.

You'll end up surprising yourself, you know. Like how strong you are and how much your heart can grow. One minute you're in pieces and broken on the floor and the next you're putting on your shoes & heading out the door. Remember all those that smiled at you & told you to have a good day. They are the little gifts sent to you reminding you to stay :white_heart:

I saw the Iron Maiden T-Shirt. Love it. A real fun project that will get your mind back in the solution:

Make a Playlist of 12 songs. Each song embodying a step of the program.

Ex. Step 2, Song 2 on my Playlist is "Move Along" All American Rejects. The principle being: HOPE.

The beautiful part is there is no wrong song. If your mind is in the solution, it's in the right place.

This statement about Depression and Anxiety is so well said, Craig.

And Brittney, hope you feel better soon and things turn around. Sending positive vibes :v:

How are you doing this morning?

A stars brightness can only be seen in the darkest of nights. Struggling in quicksand, one only sinks faster. When the conditions of the world around you seem as big and feel deeper then the ocean, take a moment to focus on a deep breath in of faith and breath out fear. Even when running in place, one needs to catch their breath.

Brittany-
Find someone to help! This will help you get out of your head.

So I've tryed to simplify my life into two main feeling. Love and fear. When im feeling depressed im generally expecting things to happen and im fearful it will not. But when look at the situation with love i can accept and evaluate what is going on in my life with love and compassion. Then adjust accordingly.
