I got a DUI in 2018. I was drunk and parked in my boyfriend’s driveway with my car on to charge my JUUL. I wasn’t driving but the car being on was enough to pull me out for a roadside test which I failed (note: Tip of nose is the TIP. Not “above” the tip. Anyway…).

I dealt with the courts, huge expenses, forced rehab, and no license for 60 days. I never told my parents.

I finally told my mom yesterday, and she was amazed and honestly great about it. She said it’d be funny if I was younger but I’m almost 50. It felt good to share this with her.

DUI and court stuff is your own business. It SUCKS but it did get me where I needed to be (sober and smarter). Posting this to say that if there’s someone you need to tell, you’ll know when it’s right.

I had one last January. Was very ashamed of it. Esp at 43 years old.

I have been "lucky", I've never gotten a DUI or anything like that. I'm even luckier that I have never hurt anyone else due to driving while drunk/high etc.

I know it's tough and throws a wrench in people's lives when they get one... b proud of yourself for battling thru it... I despise seeing people get arrested for DUI when cops , judges , p.o's etc do the same thing but consequences only happens to ppl like us

Oh that's right , dui confessional... yeah I've been nailed 3x... twice when I was 24 and again 10 years later. Total disasters. Financially , rehab and jail... u know what the worst part was tho ? Losing my license for like 12 years combined... it left me totally limited going to work or anywhere major issues , that's actually my biggest regret from it... never again
