Man last time the eagles were in the NFC championship I was tailgating and partying hard. The whole city goes crazy and it’s an amazing thing.. the Super Bowl was wild and the streets are filled with people and alcohol all hours of the night.. now I just watched the eagles win the championship alone and am realizing its a huge trigger for me.. I’m not even excited, just sad..going to hit up a meeting tonight but this is a rough one, who knew

Up until very recently I wondered if I could enjoy watching sports without drinking …. I considered myself a fanatic of my Chicago teams and I am. I was just as a fanatic as a kid when I didn’t drink so now I’m watching games again with the same excitement. Also when I was busy getting sh!t faced I barley paid attention to the game

Hey Lauren! I am a huge Eagles fan as well, and just finished watching the game alone too. I am very sad and keep reminiscing back on 2018 when I was tailgating/partying during the football season. I miss the feeling of living in the city and being in the streets after these games. Don’t get me wrong, I am extremely happy and grateful to be sober but I am just sad about all of the mixed feelings that are rushing back to me. It’s hard to turn on the news/social media. You are not alone. I did not know this was a trigger for me either.

I’m in Baltimore now and at the meeting they thought it was funny and I laughed about it too… but… only eagles fans can get it!!! I’m so glad I’m not alone on this one. Going to watch the Super Bowl at my moms house sober and instead of beer getting a bunch of chickie & Pete’s wings and crab fries. I’ve been avoiding instagram stories of everyone tailgating. Go birds💚
