Emotional baggage
By Patrick Ramsey
In the quiet corners of my mind,
heavy suitcases lay,
zippers strained,
holding whispers of yesterday.
Memories, like stones,
tumble and shift,
echoing laughter,
and the weight of tears.
I carry them gently,
though their edges are sharp,
each step a reminder
of paths I once walked.
Yet in the sunlight,
I learn to unpack—
to breathe, to lighten,
to dance without the past.
