Emotions

I don't know how to deal with the emotions and the sadness and hurt I feel when I'm off of methamphetamine for just one day. So it repeats over and over.

That’s when getting some help of professionals may be helpful in the short term. It’s what saved me last year. Turns out I was in a psychosis from my stimulant use and some help from doctors helped me come out of it. That drug led to me trying to die last April. I sincerely hope that does not happen to you. Ask for help. Where ever you live there should be a crisis line. Call it. Ask for assistance. I know it’s hard. It was the single hardest thing I did last year. You aren’t alone and people care.

If you can find one small thing to feel that you like, perhaps by thinking of a good memory, you may be able to slowly steer your thoughts and emotions in the direction you want to go. Kind of like slowly steering a canoe, that with each row or small correction is pointed closer to where you want to go, and adding momentum slowly. I wish you well in this journey.

Look for local in person meetings Sam they can help you there

I'm in agreement that your DRINKING AND USING CAREER HAS BEEN RUINED. and now is TIME TO get down to CAUSES AND CONDITIONS. DRINKING AND USING ARE A SYMPTOM AND NOT THE PROBLEM. Sam you have to let TIME WORK FOR YOU. Trust the process of recovery and you will have it

Sam, I relapsed many times for many years. Finally I made MY SOBRIETY my #1 priority over everyone & everything! Finance, romance & family are 2nd to my sobriety & emotional sobriety. When my priorities are straight, I have all of the above & much more! If not, I lose everyone & everything.
Keep it simple, go to lots of meetings everyday, get a sponsor and do the steps. I’ll friend request you now.
