Endorphins sure improve my mindset

Exercising, even for just long enough to increase your heart rate mildly helps me out so much when I’m starting to think negatively or start to become anxious.

Just thought I’d share that.

Cold plunge every day; I believe they use something similar at the VA called the Mammalian reset.

Yes it works it really does... some days it just seems like all I'm doing is managing my anxiety. But it makes complete sense to be sober and to be anxious. It's a big reason why I drink

Yes walking for twenty minutes at a normal (4 mph) speed is as good as running a mile almost!

Great advice, this winter has been tough for me, I could use more activity myself

Same! I used to be such a gym rat, too. But even a small amount of activity each day has been helping me and honestly I enjoy doing push-ups and holding myself in a plank until I can’t. I have been surprising myself with my strength which is a dopamine spike.

This is great advice. I read that’s what Adele did when she went through her divorce along with not drinking. I’m going to be fit this summer, if I replace working out with how much I drank :muscle:t3:

Replacing a positive with the negative is totally a good plan. It’s also super rad when you do the inside work as well. I slack on it myself, but the growth is what keeps me sober.
