I, too, was taught to have eyes in the back of my head. That was the most valuable lesson. If I wasn't taught that I may not be here. One day I was walking home and some guys attempted to abduct me.

Thank you for saying that AA isn't the only program that works, and being candid about sponsors. For to often we forget that a sponsor I an addict just like us. They are not therapists.

Should read in the Twelve and Twelve pages 128-131. It doesn’t matter WHO or WHAT you are, just that the program of Alcoholics Anonymous worked for you! The trauma (experience), what helped/helps (strength), and how your life is now (hope). It’s working for you!

Loved that he talked about trauma being a gateway drug. So true.
