Hey Justin! In the beginning of recovery this can be common. Talk to a doctor if you can. They will be able to help you through this part. Depending on what you were using/consuming your symptoms of detox will differ from someone else. There are a lot of factors. your brain and body need time to heal and come back to its normal state of well-being. But, I will tell you that melatonin or Calm Magnesium drink has worked for me. Hang in there! You’ll feel better!

For me early in recovery I had that same problem. Racing mind, restless, irritable and discontent had me tossing and turning. My solution was, hiking, eating healthier and setting a routine bedtime and time to get up. It took a few months to get it dialed in. My doctor tried to give me trazadone in the beginning, it worked but then I felt tired all day. Didn’t like that at all.

Try working out to burn energy and don’t have caffeine late in the day avoid screen time before bed

We go from a keg at the bar to a kettle at the meeting is part of the problem. I would say try the holistic remedies first. That was like David fighting Goliath for myself. I’ve been on sleep meds for over 20 years and feel great everyday.
