All kidding aside, I understand where you're coming from and I agree that I can't rely on people, places or things to make me truly happy.
On the flip side I still need to let people in. Some good, some bad, but I get to choose how much power I let a person have over me and my happiness.
Sometimes I'm happy moving towards someone but I can also find happiness moving away from someone.
If I'm honest I almost always find that it's me and not someone or something that affects my state of mind.
