9 days sober and I’ve never felt more tired and lazy in my life. When I was drinking I usually would stick with a few glasses of wine at dinner during the week but would have much more on the weekends. During that time I was running 3x a week, gym 2x, and yoga 5x. Now I can’t get myself to get out of bed!! I don’t know what’s happening to me. I’m very fearful that I won’t be able to snap out of it and that I’ll gain weight. You’d think being sober would give me more energy and motivation but it seems to be the opposite? I don’t get it.
That is def only a temporary feeling. It took me about a month to finally find the energy to get back into the things I did like CrossFit etc...you have to remember that once we stop our body is trying to rebalance out hormones, chemicals etc and heal. Just like getting over a cold, it takes a bit to get back to feeling "normal"
I agree with Dan. Also, don’t underestimate the emotional toll of having to “feel” again. It’s exhausting having to deal with all these feelings and emotions! It’s a different kind of tired. You will adjust to this as well. It’s all for the good. Keep your chin up!
That’s temporary. The body is missing out on the sugar. Rest as much as you can… and stay hydrated
That’s a great point thank you!
Girl I'm tired and lazy at 6 months believe it, it stays hahaha
The main reason your body feel so tired all the time is because your body is used to running on a substance removing that substance also drained your body because you were moving we kept you going for so long your body will eventually get used to it you just have to stick it out and give it the time to do so
It gets easier, dont give up you got this.
It’s just a phase of it and your body coping. If you gain a little weight, it’s ok. Being sober is more important than that. Alcohol has a lot of sugar and affects how we metabolize food. So give your body some time to heal….You’re energy will come back ten fold.
