Think we need more after work groups like we had after school activities. Maybe that would be helpful to some people. What are some things that would be interesting enough for people to commit to meeting regularly. Remotely of course. I really like money. Anybody into stocks/ crypto. Think if I put the money and energy in investing (that I put into alcohol) in my downtime, I’ll be on easy street in no time😂
Love horror movies. Maybe a Watch Party
This is why I go to a 5:30 AA meeting. It’s a great way to wind down the day’s stress, and transition my attitude/perspective before I get home to deal with the family.
Every day?
I used to do volunteer work in NYC sometimes. Was fulfilling to feel like I was helping people. But once I accepted this other position, I have a lot more responsibility and work a lot more hours. Work in New York but live in Jersey. Volunteer work was in Ny. Traffic gets crazy. When I get off, my goal is to get back to the Jersey side asap. Maybe I should look up volunteer work here. But my projects/ hours can change instantly. Don’t wanna choose between my career and overtime pay or my volunteer commitment. Definitely need the money.
Nah, about 3x a week. The Mrs gets a little funky if I go more than that. However, on the days I don’t go, I typically stop at a nearby park and meditate or listen to a quick recovery/mental health podcast to pause my thinking and recalibrate my brain. Bottom line is I do something almost every weekday at that time to transition from work stress to chill time
Cool. I aspire to be there one day. Hopefully soon. Just signed up for classes that I can take online at my own pace. Bought a new tablet and found a library a mile away that stays open until 9pm. Been procrastinating for 3 weeks. But gonna get it going. Good thing about me is once I get going I usually see things through. I just keep making excuses to put it off another day/ week
Just found a church a few miles from me that has a pantry. Gonna stop by a see it’s something I can help with in my down time
