I’m so grateful for my mom. I’m here visiting with my grandpa in Virginia. My grandma passed away when I was in rehab unfortunately and I had to make the choice to miss her funeral because I had to commit to rehab and getting myself stable. My grandpa is just crushed. They were together for some crazy amount of years like 60 years of marriage or something! My mom had to help her mom pass in home hospice and she was there for everything. She is 7 years sober and she said she wanted to relapse so bad watching her mother like that. And now she has to watch her grandpa be so heartbroken and deeply depressed. But she had stayed strong the entire time and pushed forward. I’m just so freakin proud of her and grateful for the role model she has turned into. She is showing me every day I am here with her and my grandpa how to deal with difficult things SOBER STYLE!! I’m so so grateful for that. It’s giving me so much strength!
