Today I feel all crazy emotionally. I am going to rehab this coming Tuesday, which I’m really glad about. Do the 12 steps make a person less insane? More relaxed? I literally don’t feel myself the last couple days. What do I do today to snap out of it? Need advice please.
Look up somatic exercises on IG if you have it. There’ll be tons of exercises to choose from. That will help calm you.
Thank you Mandy
Welcome! Hope it helps! Maybe some hot tea and a bath as well after if needed. Relax those muscles.
Okay. Good ideas. I’ll do these things
Meditate. That calms the mind, finds a peaceful medium
Thank you
Yes. That’s the simple answer. The 12 steps promise restoration to sanity and a spiritual awakening. It’s been true for me and not only did I not believe it was going to work, but I still don’t understand how it did.
Oh thank God because I can’t be this way anymore. So hopeful to hear this
Stay in the PROCESS JANELLE. I DID 40 MONTHS OF DRUG AND ALCOHOL TREATMENT IN MY 20S I NEEDED IT TO LEARN HOW TO LIVE SOBER. not ALWAYS easy but Doable. Be a Long-term thinker and remember you can FACE EVERYTHING AND RECOVER. YOU CAN DO THIS. YOU ARE DOING THIS AND YOU HAVE ALL THE SUPPORT YOU NEED.
Thank you so much Joseph:pray:
Your welcome
How you doing today JANELLE. IM IN AGREEMENT THAT YOU STAY IN THE PROCESS. YOU CAN DO THIS
Yea it does work. Before I became sober I wanted to jump out my skin. Not working a program gutted even worse even though I was not drinking. My suggestion is after treatment go to meetings, find a sponsor who has worked the steps, and work them with her. Develop a spiritual connection, and participate in fellowship. This it how it works, and many do recover if they have the capacity to be honest whith ourselves. one day at a time!
The 12 Steps absolutely restore us to sanity!
Among other things, the promises of the 12 Steps specifically state that sanity is restored and the drinking problem is removed, it no longer exists for us! (Provided, of course, we don’t stop doing the things that gave us our sanity back in the first place!)
