Feeling exhausted

The past few weeks have been so much on me that I’m ready to give up. I know everybody’s life “sucks” and everybody has “issues” but you’d have to personally know me to understand that I am taking kicks from the front, back, left AND right. And I’m just feeling so beaten down and overwhelmed. I feel like I can’t even stop for one second to look at the clouds, or stop for a few minutes to look at the moon. I really am not in the best mind frame and the light in my eyes has dimmed so much that I almost don’t recognize myself. I give and let people take from me until there’s nothing left to water the garden with, nothing left for my own little pot. Maybe one day…

Please find a solution to dealing with these feelings. The reason we are all here is because our solutions were to run and escape into our addictions. Many of us follow some sort of daily recovery program that helps us manage and process our feelings in a healthier way. You’re definitely off to a good start by offloading some steam on here. We all know these feelings all too well. I get completely overwhelmed at times too. Today I have tools and resources that I’ve borrowed from various programs, as well as recommendations from other people in recovery that help me get thru these moments without needing to F up my life. You can do it too.

Right? Pity parties do nothing towards a solution. Self centered is our character defect. Doing the work changes one’s perception of life. I found that “my biggest problems” were really sometimes Blessings :grinning:

Thank you so much for this. :two_hearts:

Of course! Plus, don’t forget how F’n exhausting it is to actually feel all these emotions. We’re not used to feeling. It takes a lot out of you.

Know it’s ok to feel these feelings but let them go. You have a community full of people who do recover. Life happens on life’s terms the good with the bad. It’s up to you to change your circumstances. We all have choices. We learn the tools that are so freely given to us. It’s up to you to use them. Start with gratitude on life instead of all the negativity. You are truly Blessed look around you, you woke up today clean sober. Take a chance to smile  see what’s around you and give thanx  Best wishes
