took my will back and drank, lost my job, humiliated .
I'm sorry Tracey. Try not to get caught in shame. Guilt is a useful tool as it helps understand why what we did was the wrong choice, but shame makes us feel that we ourselves are bad. This is a tough time no doubt, but you can turn this around, live a happy sober life, and find a new job you love. I believe in you.
thanks for being so kind. just feeling kinda lost. all because of a relapse. not sure why I did rhis
Do you know why you won't do it again? That may be the important thing to know. Don't beat yourself up, just make the decision, understand why, and commit. Checkout the book, Alan Carr's quit drinking without willpower; it will open your eyes and help you to be free.
thanks for the message, I don't feel so alone
You are most welcome: We're all in this together my friend.
Stay strong Tracey. Just keep moving forward. Make the best of each day that you can and keep your head held high.
Never too late to start over. It’s not a failure if you learn from it. You got this!
Relapses are the roads to recovery. Beautiful!! You will find another job!!
You did this because that’s what alcoholics do. We drink. “At exactly the wrong time”
The miracle is when we don’t.
I tell myself just keep moving forward. Don’t look back in shame. That will just keep me there. Keep moving forward. I believe in us!
It happens, it happened to me almost 6 months ago. Only thing you can do is learn something from this experience, put the drink down, and move forward.
Stay strong, you got this
You're not alone in this experience, Tracey. We pick ourselves up, dust off a bit, look back for a moment and ask 'Wha' happened?' and then look forward to what will be a better life.
Just for today. Sleep. Repeat.
