I just started a part-time at my local parks and recreation department. Had an organizational meeting tonight about summer programs. Met a lot of new people who were all friendly. But I left feeling so out of place. Coming up on 5 months clean and took this job as a chance to do something selfless and not centered around me. I guess it’s character defects revealing themselves, but I can’t imagine most people would feel this was doing something that was meant to be positive and community-based. I’m taking it in stride but it’s a lot of uncomfortable emotions. Can anybody relate to this?
