I stayed out last night way too late!! But it was worth it as about 20 of us went out for fellowship after our meeting! I had fun with good sober talk, experience, strength and hope! I’m getting ready for work on 2 hours of sleep!
not funny…
or is it! Going to be another long day! Two sponsee meetings after work! I must stay connected! Have a blessed day filled with love and peace within my sober family! Love you all!
Sounds fabulous! 20 out for fellowship!!! Wow!!!
Great to hear it brother! Fellowship is extremely important to not only my sobriety, but to my happiness. I’ve stayed sober alone for years. It was lonely as heck. Even though I was very busy (work, family, sports, hobbies, etc), I felt so lonely and different. This time I have true friends. I have people that get me, and we talk about real sh!t. I did dinner last night with 6 other guys from our mens meeting. It was great. I hear others ask if they could do it alone because they don’t want to go to meetings. I get it…meetings aren’t for everyone. However, why would anyone want to do this alone? It’s so much healthier to make real connections and have a support group. That’s my opinion anyway. Seems you think the same way
It was absolutely fabulous!
That’s awesome! And yes I need the fellowship and real alcoholics.
You bring up a good point about those who say they don’t need meetings, how are they able to give back what was so freely given to them? Or maybe they aren’t alcoholics like you and I are. It talks about this the big book about the heavy drinker who may just need to stop drinking for long enough to have some kind of mental shift and they seem to realize alcohol isn’t for them. These types can quit and stay stopped without the program. And for that I feel that some of the rooms are filled with these types of heavy drinkers who are not real alcoholics. Page 39 too paragraph says exactly what I’m referring too.
