Congratulations!! That's why we say one day at a time. Try not to look down the road. Stay in the moment stay sober just for today and soon you will be surprised at how your world will change for the better. Get support from outside groups of people like us. If not AA there are tons of sober groups online. Good luck

I treat every day like today is the only 24 hours I have. I always went back out when I got lost in how much time I had. I always fear what people’s perceptions of me were, and my pride didn’t want me to admit I was still struggling. Since I approach it on a day to day basis, I have years under my belt now. Great job man, that first 24 hours was so hard for me!

So happy for you.
I remember several months after I relapsed after being sober for almost 9 years I said to myself, "I just want to get through one day without picking up a drink." But no matter how hard I tried, I was always drunk by the end of the day. This is called the Insidious cycle of insanity!
