Finally

My friend went to treatment today!!
Her 1st time ever she was using before I met her and for the two years I've been sober and finally!!!
It brings tears to my eyes, she's the one I always think about whenever I hear "a moment for the addict still suffering " she was the one I really ran with. We've only been communicating online as she is one of my biggest triggers. she said my honesty is what hit her the hardest. I was brutally honest with her she said I was a real good friend for that. I hope she can get what she needs from this. She said I was her inspiration!!!! Me?!?! lol I can't believe I'm anybody's inspiration but it feels good to be, and ..... I did it just by being me!(what :eyes:?lol) Yay her daughter would be so proud of her if she understood what her mom is doing to get better. She told her daughter she was going to go get better like Jessica did :sob:
if your story can just help one person

That is awesome to hear that you have made a difference in someone’s life and possibly saved her life. We can only set an example and lead them, we can’t save them. Only out higher power does that. I wish you both the best.

I wish everyone could get and stay sober. I have friends that struggle and are in and out and it breaks my heart. I've learned that I can't be their sobriety and I need boundaries to protect my own sobriety. I still love and pray for them. During moments of silence at meetings i ask God to help those still sick and suffering.

My father and my best friend have both used me as an example and haven't had a drink in 2 years! Such a good feeling knowing you've positively impacted their lives!
