Finding the First Step

I’m fighting with myself to figure out the first step to my sobriety. I’m lost, I don’t know which direction is up. Someone, please guide me? Help me see that I deserve a good life and good health, not this vicious and empty life I am living, that I’m putting myself through. Where do I start?

You have to believe you’re worth it (you are!). Give yourself forgiveness and grace. As a first step, listen to some “quit lit”- I loved the audiobook “Quit Like a Woman”. If you can’t/don’t want to get to a meeting, join “Sober Sisters” group on Facebook. Lots of supportive women! You have so much to give and many people who love you. Live your best life!

Get to meetings, get a sponsor, that is your first step.

You did start. By asking for help that is the first step. Be gentle to yourself. We all know the feelings, and what seems the weight of the world closing in. Breath! The apps “meeting guide” and “in the rooms are free and give locations and times for meetings. It will take courage but go to a meeting. If there is a woman’s meeting even better. Talk… don’t talk it’s up to you. But go and sit. There is a whole community of people who not only will help but genuinely WANT to help you.
