First aa meeting of the day went exceptionally well. There's just something about being around people who know what you're going through and the struggle. There's something so peaceful in listening and realizing you're not alone and not crazy for feeling how you feel.
I'm afraid to go I'm not a religious person
I am not a religious person either dear. When they talk about finding a higher power, it is whatever higher power you choose. It doesn't have to be god. It took me a while to see past the god aspect, but truly, it is very minimal. In the work done in the meetings. A higher power is whatever you choose. I hope this helps love.Message me anytime.I'm here if you need to talk.
Thanks for your response I appreciate it very much I'm all alone have everything but feel like I have nothing except stupid alcohol it's all I think about and I think about stopping because it's ruining my life but thank you
Absolutely
I thought you were going to be there to talk but everyone has their own life that's okay I'm a good time thanks again
I meant all in good time have a great day
I don't know what you mean by you're a "good time." I'm not looking for something like that at all. I can't be on this app 24/7. If you'd like to talk sobriety, feel free to message me.
I reposted what I meant I didn't mean I'm a good time I said all in good time but thank you
My first sponsor told me that God stands for “group of drunks.” That helped until I regained some spirituality.
Truth
So true. I missed my in person meeting this week with celebrate recovery, so I'll have to catch my online AA spiritual principles a day or two for certain.
Glad you got your ground! Way to go!!!
It’s not a religious program it is a spiritual one you just need to believe in a higher power than you… it can be a tree if you want it to be.
My desperation got me in the rooms, but the people have kept me there.
Totally agree!
Read the big book.
Get a sponsor and work the steps.
You don't need to be. You can be a full blow atheist/Agnostic and you'd fit in real well.
Thank u for the thought
You did the hardest part going through them doors !
Grow or Die is what mine told me
