First AA Meeting Today!

I’m excited and a little nervous. I’m looking forward to having that community as well as this one so I don’t feel like I’m going it alone and depending on just willpower.

Good deal.
It was recommended to me when going to meetings that I look for the similarities, not the differences.

Way to make that courageous strong step into a room. My hope is that you find the gift of desperation so that you'll find someone to work the steps with, one step at a time.

Higher power and meetings are what works for me. Congrats on moving forward.

@laura303319 how did the meeting go?

Well Laura, how was that first meeting?

It was awesome. Being around people who totally understood what I was going through was so helpful. I felt so much better after.

@laura303319 add me and keep coming back... It works.
Welcome to the beginning of your new life. By being sober you will have the luxury of living two lives in on lifetime. The first being your life of alcohol. The second your new life without alcohol.
I would encourage you to download the Everything AA App and listen to the Joe and Charlie Big Book study. If you have a Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous please follow along. If you don't have one I'd highly suggest you get one. If you can't afford one please let me know and I'll see to it that you get one. I'm here/hear for you.

Keep coming back, it works if you work it. I know it sounds cliche but it is so incredibly true!! Doesn't matter what happens in the day...I always hear exactly what I need to hear in each and every meeting. I've learned so much and gained such insight into myself and my past behavior. It's not just about not drinking...it's about correcting the "drinking thinking". The fellowship and the gifts/blessings you receive in the meetings are priceless. Each one you attend is in essence your service work to others as well. Great place to vet a sponsor too!! Congratulations on your journey...you're not alone!!!:sun_with_face:

that’s such a big step and you should be proud. First meetings can feel nerve-wracking, I knowI felt that way. But you’re walking into something that could change everything. Keep showing up

That's awesome I hope u find a good support group

Congrats!

That’s the best thing to do for yourself. Keep going to meetings and pray  I promise that it gets better and you’ll feel much better soon

Joe and Charlie tapes are the best!!
