First day on here (again) except this time I’m actually

First day on here (again) except this time I’m actually maintaining sobriety! I’m holding on only by a thread…I’ve got a strong will but my sanity’s beginning to slip.

November was rough. Relocated back to the old neighborhood once my case was dismissed. Attended meetings daily for the first two weeks but these last two weeks, I’ve let depression get the better of me. Haven’t left the house and almost drank/picked up a few times. Planning on hitting a meeting tonight, hopefully I get the motivation.

My advice to the newcomers: don’t drink/drug, go to meetings. Simple as that.
I asked an old timer with thirty years how he did it and that was his answer. That’s the answer I get everytime and it’s facts. Don’t drink/drug and go to meetings. At meetings you find camaraderie like you may have in the street except these people will help keep you alive and want nothing in return. The suggestions are only suggestions but I guarantee they’ll save your life. I couldn’t stay sober eighteen seconds and I just celebrated eighteen months four days ago!

Good luck and God bless :pray:t4:

Outstanding Roger!!
It’s a miracle when I stay sober for today. I’m forever grateful for A.A. and this way of life.
