First day sober and trying to figure different things that I can do daily when I feel the urge to be go out drinking. I never drink at home but whenever I get lonely, I got to the bar and almost always black out/end up in really bad situations. Any suggestions of things to do when loneliness hits would be helpful

Go for a hike. Workout. Read. Start learning a new (or pick up an old but lost) skill. When all else fails, I find a meeting, even if its one I've never been to I'm nearly always welcomed "home"

When I get feel the need to drank I get on my bicycle and put on my headphones and just take off or I'll read twelve step twelve traditions
