Hey Brooke, congratulations on starting this journey. I joined this app when I was still drinking. I’m now on day 75 which is hard to believe as I’m even typing this. I knew my life was going nowhere good, stuck in the cycle of drinking every evening, saying/doing stupid things(if I remembered what that was), waking up feeling unhealthy, unhinged and depressed among other things. My husband drinks so I separated myself from that in the evening, reading, etc, distracting myself with things I enjoy. I also went to AA meetings which was scary for me but it helps being around people who are going through the same thing. I could go on but here’s what I found most helpful. Work through your initial emotions as your body adjusts, take yourself out of situations that will make you want to drink/use, distract your mind bc it’s going to tell you to go do what you’re trying to stop doing, go to a meeting if you’re up to it, if not, talk to someone sober that you can trust, talk to us here. Most of all, give yourself time and believe in yourself. Just know your life will be so much better without it mentally, emotionally and physically. I won’t sugarcoat things and say it’s going to be easy but it’s so worth it. You deserve better for yourself. Here for you girl. We all are

Good advice. The old saying one day at a time came about for a reason. AA worked for me. I fought it for 20 years, thinking I was smarter or better than that program or those people. Once I gave in and actually tried it, it worked for me. You spent a long time getting to this page. It's going to take a while for you to think right. Don't drink listened to Mindys' advice above. Peace.

Yay!!! Good job!!! All you have to do is just do it. It's alot harder then just typing it out or saying it. But I promise it's worth it. You deserve it. You can do it. You got this. Believe in yourself!! Just take it second by second then minute by minute, an work up to day by day. I'm so excited for you. If you need anything I'm here for u girl.

You have come to the right place. I was in the same boat too, and a half three years ago when I started with lucid. I now have a month sober, but over fifteen hundred clean days in all
